Eva Wanja Ndung’u

Eva is a Partner at McKay’s Real Estate, Banking and Finance Department. She also heads the Company Secretarial Practice at Emrays Company Secretaries.

 

Eva is a seasoned legal practitioner with over twelve (12) years’ experience. She holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Moi University and a Post Graduate Diploma from Kenya School of Law. Eva is also a certified secretary and certified governance auditor.

 

Eva has rich experience in providing strategic and practical advice to clients in complex property transactions, real estate and project structuring, conveyancing, securitization, land use and planning (including titling), succession and estate planning and corporate governance.

 

  • Banking & Finance: acted for many banking and finance institutions in transactions of varying amounts and complexity. The banking institutions include ABSA Bank, KCB Bank, National Bank, Co-operative Bank, Equity Bank, ABC Bank, Middle East Bank, Gulf African Bank, First Community Bank, Family Bank. The Financial Institutions include Industrial and Commercial Development Bank, Business Partners International, Ed Partners, SMP Capital and Dimkes SACCO;

 

  • Import financing and Banking: acted for a Kenyan bank in perfection of securities in relation to advance of loan facilities amounting to USD 40,000,000 to be advanced to a Kenyan subsidiary of a foreign entity to finance import of oil and related products;

 

  • Project Finance: assisted in negotiation for financing and the structuring of a loan of USD 3.5 million from one of the banks advanced to a local company owned by Chinese nationals for purposes of acquisition and development of a property situated in Nairobi, Kenya;

 

  • Securities review & advisory: part of a team involved in the review of securities of one of the biggest commercial bank in Kenya, an exercise that was aimed at exploring the possibility of introduction of mortgage backed securities.
