Kelvin Migwi

Kelvin is an Associate in the Litigation & Alternative Dispute Resolution Department at McKay Advocates. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL. B) degree from the University of Nairobi and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. He is also a Certified Professional Mediator and has undertaken specialised training in public procurement under the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA).


Kelvin’s practice spans litigation and alternative dispute resolution, where he has represented clients before the Court of Appeal, the High Court, subordinate courts, and arbitral tribunals. He has been part of teams handling complex disputes involving commercial contracts, procurement processes, and regulatory compliance.


Some of his recent work includes:

  • Advised the County Government of Kajiado on the implications of the recently enacted Kenya National Rating Act, 2024, particularly in harmonizing its provisions with existing county legislation, namely the Kajiado Rating Act, 2016 and the Kajiado County Finance Act, 2023.

  • Acted for various community groups in Narok and Kajiado Counties in historical land injustice claims before the Environment and Land Court, with a focus on restitution, compensation, and protection of community land rights.

  • Represented SBM Bank (Kenya) Limited before the High Court of Kenya and Court of Appeal in complex debt recovery proceedings and enforcement of security instruments.
