
Mark Akama
Mark is an Associate at McKay’s Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Practice. He advises and represents clients on constitutional disputes, commercial litigation and construction matters.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree (LL.B) from Moi University, a Postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law (KSL) and has undertaken a specialised training in public procurement under the Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA). He is also currently enrolled in a Data Protection Course offered by the Centre for Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law (CIPIT).
Mark is also a member of the Law Society of Kenya (LSK).
Mark has experience representing clients across several sectors. Some of the notable matters that he has been involved in include:
• Part of the team representing the County Government of Kajiado in a petition challenging alleged violations of the Constitution of Kenya and the Kajiado County Finance Act, 2023;
• Acting for corporate clients in disputes relating to breach of contract, debt recovery and enforcement of security instruments; and
• Representing property developers and owners in tenancy disputes, evictions and contractual claims relating to the development and sale of property.
