McKay contributes to the development and drafting of various policy and legislative instruments both at the national and county level. We offer legal advice and support to policy-making institutions, particularly government ministries, departments and agencies, individual legislators and other stakeholders to draft legislation in finance, environment and sustainability, energy, public and administrative law.

 

Some of the notable work we have recently done include:

 

• Government: provided legal and legislative drafting services to several county governments in the preparation of various legislative and policy instruments relating to climate change and sustainability;

• Government: provided legal advisory services to a county government in relation to the proposed review of its rating and valuation laws; and

​

• Government: routinely reviews and updates the annual finance bills for a county government in Kenya in line with the county’s proposals on generation and expenditure of county revenue.
